A Family Visit

It was 28 F. this morning at 6 am.  The water in the faucet was a trickle, which means the hose was partially frozen.  Ran the water for  a minute or so and broke up the frozen crystals and all was well with the world,  Had a nice breakfast of ham and eggs, watched a little morning TV and took the dogs for a long walk over to Loop B.  On the walk, we saw the lake for the first time.  The lake is a water supply reservoir and was down somewhat, but I guess it comes back up in the spring.  Tomorrow it is in the plan to drive down to the lake and check it out.

About 1:30, my brother Roger, along with his wife and daughter came for a visit.  They live in West Covina, about 80 miles away.  We haven’t seen each other for a couple of years and it was great to catch up on family news.  Rosie outdid herself preparing a delicious Chicken Cacciatore over linguini for dinner.  My brother is a big football fan (something in which I have absolutely no interest) so I was forced to watch two back to back games on the tube during their visit.  My niece went with me on a couple of dog walks and we had a good visit.

Now company has departed, the dishes are done and there is time to post this brief blog.

Thanks for stopping by.
