Camper Mods–Day Two

Boy oh Boy, did I wake up stiff and sore this morning.  Ripping out camper carpeting is not an easy task.  Anyway, I returned to the task about 9:30 am and continued with the process.  I got as far as the bedroom about noon and then;  I ran out of gas.  Not the kind you pump into your car; but the kind that keeps our muscular energy running along.   I guess all the bending, kneeling, stooping and pulling was more than this ole body could take.  I had to sit down for a length of time and catch my breath.  After a lunch break, I came to the conclusion that I would have to turn over the rest of the carpet removal project to Tim of A & T Service.  He was very understanding and we agreed that he would take a lead role in taking out the rest of the carpet and I would assist in whatever way was useful to him.  For instance, I can take on the time consuming task of removing staples from the floor; not strenuous, but detail oriented.

Here are some pictures showing the progress today.

Here is the first day.                                           Here is today.

I will be able to continue on the project in the morning , but we have 3 house showings scheduled tomorrow starting at 11:00 am.  Then I have to prepare for a 1 day work trip to western Idaho on Thursday.

Your doing a great job. One of the reasons we run out of gas is that we forget to keep Hyrated. Anything non alcoholic will help keep the body running.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

Wow, for some reason, I would have thought ripping out the carpet would not be that difficult. This proves me wrong huh? At least the sub floor looks good. What are you planning on putting down?

Oh, never mind my question. I went back to the previous post. Just joined you recently & am behind on blogs. but I find remodeling fascinating! Good luck.

The problem with RV carpet is they do not use tack strips like in your house. They stretch and staple; and staple; and staple! You get the idea. And every one of those stinking little staples needs to be pulled. Plus they staple the padding first, then staple the carpet. Aargh!
